India’s Cabinet Committee on Security has approved Phase III of the Space-Based Surveillance mission, paving the way for 52 new surveillance satellites. This move aims to enhance monitoring capabilities against adversaries like China and Pakistan, focusing on maritime security and illegal infrastructure development along the Line of Actual Control. The project has a budget of Rs 26,968 crore.
