A study by the University of Birmingham and Hainan University has found toxic ‘Forever Chemicals’ (PFAS) in drinking water globally. Detected in over 99% of bottled water samples, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) were prevalent. Chinese tap water showed higher PFAS levels than UK samples, with some from Shenzhen exceeding the US EPA’s limit of 4 ng/L.
