NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, Indian-origin and a trailblazer in human spaceflight, retired on December 27, 2025, after 27 years and 608 days in space across three missions. She completed nine spacewalks, set multiple records, ran the first marathon in space, commanded the ISS twice, and contributed to science, technology, and Artemis mission preparations.
