A nationwide quality audit by the CDSCO, along with state drug regulators, has flagged serious concerns over medicine standards. In a drug alert issued recently, 205 samples were declared not of standard quality (NSQ). Himachal Pradesh emerged at the top of the list, recording the highest number of substandard medicines, raising questions over manufacturing.
