Dress rehearsals for the armed forces were underway at Kartavya Path this morning for the 75th Republic Day parade. Earlier, the rehearsals began on January 13 and will continue until January 21, 2024. Meanwhile, Indian Armed Forces contingents were seen marching to drumbeats during the rehearsals.
According to the PMO, French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest for the upcoming 75th Republic Day. In fact, this will be the sixth occasion when a French leader will be the chief guest at Republic Day celebrations. Meanwhile, the Delhi police have increased vigilance in the national capital ahead of Republic Day.
For the first time in India’s history, the Border Security Force’s (BSF) all-women marching and brass band contingents will join this year’s Republic Day parade. An Assistant Commandant rank woman officer and two subordinate officers from BSF will lead a total of 144 women BSF constables marching down Kartavya Path.
In addition to that, a total of 2,274 cadets from all 28 states and 8 Union Territories will join the month-long National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024. However, this year’s NCC camp will see the largest group of girl cadets, with 907 girls.
