The central govt has shifted 12.68 lakh email accounts from the NIC system to Zoho Mail, a secure, homegrown cloud-based platform. Out of these, 7.45 lakh accounts belong to govt employees in VT. The migration process, which started in October 2025, aims to enhance digital security, though the govt has not disclosed the total cost of the transition.
