India has received its first batch of 2,000 Israeli NEGEV 7.62×51 light machine guns under the ‘Make in India’ initiative through PLR Systems, a joint venture of Israel Weapon Industries and the Adani Group. This delivery is part of a larger 41,000‑unit contract, marking a major milestone in defence manufacturing and technology transfer.
