In Zimbabwe, users are required to obtain an admin license to create a WhatsApp group, unlike in India where it is free. The license costs 50 dollars (approximately Rs. 4,200), which must be paid to the Zimbabwean government. Zimbabwean Minister Tatenda Mawetera explained that this new rule was introduced to curb the spread of false news.
