Study Reveals Commercial Tea Bags Release Harmful Microplastics

A study by the Autonomous University of Barcelona reveals that commercial tea bags made from polymer-based materials release millions of microplastics and nanoplastics when brewed. Tea bags made of nylon-6, polypropylene, and cellulose were found to release significant amounts of nano-sized particles, which can be absorbed by the body, posing potential health risks.
