India Clears 6 GHz Spectrum For Wi-Fi 6E And Wi-Fi 7 Use

India’s DoT has de-licensed 500 MHz in the lower 6 GHz band, enabling licence-free Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 services. The move boosts indoor broadband speeds, complements 5G, and supports future 6G readiness. Upper 6 GHz frequencies remain reserved for mobile services, with strict power limits to prevent interference and ensure secure connectivity.
