DoT Seeks Trai’s Views On Satellite Spectrum Allocation Norms

DOT has sought feedback from Trai on norms for allocating satellite spectrum, as informed in Parliament. Govt will allocate spectrum for satellite services through an administrative mechanism, while telecom operators will acquire radiowaves through auctions. Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar confirmed that administratively assigned spectrum will be chargeable & contribute to revenue.
