Jharkhand To Host ‘FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024’
Jharkhand is scheduled to host the 'FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024,' from January 13–19, 2024, at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. According to Hockey India, this prestigious tournament is one of three global Olympic qualifying events.
Jharkhand is scheduled to host the ‘FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024,’ from January 13–19, 2024, at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. According to Hockey India, this prestigious tournament is one of three global Olympic qualifying events. The other two are being held in Valencia, Spain (women’s and men’s), and Muscat, Oman (men’s).
Actually, this event is all set to be held in China, but Hockey India requested FIH to shift the venue to India after China’s women directly qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Today, Hockey India, in a momentous occasion marked by unity and anticipation, formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for hosting the upcoming FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi 2024 in Jharkhand.
This significant occasion took place in the company of distinguished dignitaries, among them the Indian women’s hockey team players, Manoj Kumar, Secretary Sports, Jharkhand, IAS, and Sushant Gaurav, Director Sports, Jharkhand, IAS. Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh and Hockey India Treasurer Sekar J Manoharan will also be present at the event.
Hockey India President Dr Dilip Tirkey, while addressing the event, said, “India’s dedication to the sport and our unwavering pursuit of excellence is demonstrated by the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi. We sincerely appreciate the help that the Jharkhand government has provided. Together, we want to create an unforgettable and prosperous competition that celebrates hockey culture and fosters global friendship.”
