Opposition MPs Threaten To Withdraw From Waqf Bill Committee

Opposition MPs warned Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that they might “dissociate” from the joint parliamentary committee studying the Waqf Bill. They accused committee Chair Jagadambika Pal of unilaterally deciding meeting dates and consultations, calling it a “forceful” attempt to push the Waqf Amendment Bill. The proposed changes, tabled in August, faced strong protests from opposition members.
