In a recent speech, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan described Jamaat-e-Islami as the “Islamic version” of the RSS, emphasizing its revivalist agenda aimed at establishing an Islamic caliphate. He contrasted this with the Indian Union Muslim League, which he termed as a reformist organization. Vijayan reiterated the CPI(M)’s stance against both majority and minority communalism.
