Bashir Ahmad Veeri, National Conference MLA from Srigufwara-Bijbehara, was detained at Srinagar Airport after security personnel discovered two live pistol rounds in his baggage. He was traveling to Jammu when the ammunition was found. Veeri, who recently won his constituency against Iltija Mufti of the PDP, is currently being questioned by the Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding the incident.
