Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty urged the government to make singing ‘Vande Mataram’compulsory in all schools. She said the song united India during the freedom struggle and children must learn its full meaning. Murty warned that students may forget the national song over time and stressed its importance in teaching patriotism, sacrifice and love for the country.
