Karnataka CM Orders Halt On Cancelling Ration Cards For Poor Families

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah instructed Food Department officials not to cancel the ration cards of poor families, amid concerns over the ineligibility of 22.6 lakh Below the Poverty Line (BPL) cardholders. This follows a government survey in August 2024, which identified these individuals as ineligible, sparking fears among families dependent on welfare benefits.
