Dinesh Gunawardena Steps Down As Sri Lankan PM

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena resigned from his position on Monday. He stated that his decision followed the victory of NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake in the recent presidential election. Gunawardena stepped down just hours before Dissanayake was sworn in as the new president. He had served as Prime Minister from July 2022 until his resignation.
