Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to skip ED summons again over the liquor policy case. CM Kejriwal will skip the Enforcement Directorate’s summons for the fifth time in connection with the money laundering probe related to the Delhi liquor policy 2021–22.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim is to arrest Arvind Kejriwal and topple the Delhi government. Meanwhile, the fresh summons to CM Kejriwal followed the fourth summons, which he had earlier skipped on January 18, 2024.
In fact, the ED wants to record CM Kejriwal’s official statement in the case on issues like the formulation of policy, meetings held before it was finalized, and bribery matters. However, CM Kejriwal has skipped four previous summons so far issued by the ED on November 2, December 22, January 3, and January 18.
It is known that senior AAP leaders, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, are already under judicial custody in this liquor policy case. Sisodia, who was the then Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, and the ED arrested Singh, who is a Rajya Sabha member.
