CEC Cracks Down, Delists 474 Unrecognized Parties

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has delisted 474 unrecognized political parties across the country for violating electoral rules. This follows a similar action in 2024 when 334 parties were removed. The move aims to ensure transparency and accountability. Currently, India has 6 national and 67 regional parties recognized by the Election Commission.
