The Union Cabinet has approved the PM-Vidyalaxmi scheme to offer financial support to meritorious students, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial barriers. Eligible students admitted to top-ranked institutions (as per NIRF) will be able to access collateral-free loans. Initially, 860 institutions are included, benefiting over 22 lakh students annually.
