TG Governor Clears 42% BC Reservation In Local Bodies

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has approved amendments to the Panchayat Raj and Municipal Acts, clearing the way for 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies. This move lifts the 50% reservation cap. With the Governor authorizing the Gazette Notification, the state is set to issue the local body election schedule soon.
