MP Launches ‘Birth Waiting Home’ Scheme To Reduce Maternal Mortality

Madhya Pradesh is introducing the ‘Birth Waiting Scheme’ to reduce maternal mortality by promoting institutional deliveries. Pregnant women from tribal areas will receive Rs 100 per day to stay in Birth Waiting Homes at community health centres, encouraging hospital deliveries. The scheme, initially launched in Jhabua, Alirajpur, and Barwani, will expand to 71 civil hospitals and 249 health centres.
