The Centre will develop 100 climate-resilient coastal villages under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), with Rs 2 crore allocated per village. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, promote sustainable livelihoods, and protect against climate change. It includes facilities like fish drying yards, seaweed cultivation, and drone monitoring of fisheries. The project also plans to equip 1 lakh fishing vessels with tracking technology.
