Chidambaram Challenges Money Laundering Charges In Delhi HC

Ex union minister Chidambaram approached the Delhi High Court, challenging the trial court’s cognizance of money laundering charges against him in the INX Media case. Chidambaram argued that the mandatory sanction for his prosecution was not obtained. Senior counsel N. Hariharan contended that the requisite sanction was not in place when the trial court took cognizance in 2021.
