Delhi CM Atishi, in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor, told a court that the threshold for political defamation is high, as parties are part of public discourse. Atishi’s lawyer argued that the BJP, not Kapoor, would be the aggrieved party. The court will hear the complainant’s arguments on December 16. Atishi is accused of defaming Kapoor with claims of BJP attempting to poach AAP MLAs.
