Nadendla Bhaskara Rao, former Chief Minister of joint Andhra Pradesh, was born on June 23, 1936 in Guntur. An Osmania graduate, he entered politics through Congress and became MLA in 1978. He served in cabinets of Marri Chenna Reddy and Anjaiah, and later as Finance Minister under NTR. In 1984, he held the CM post and was elected MP from Khammam in 1998.
