SC Gives Final Deadline For Centre’s Response On Defaced Currency Case

The Supreme Court has granted the Centre a final four-week deadline to respond to a PIL seeking a CBI probe into the exchange of Rs 30 crore in defaced currency by the RBI in Jammu. The currency, allegedly linked to a Kashmiri separatist group, was exchanged in 2013. The petitioner claims the exchange aimed to destabilize peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
