Nepal’s Tallest Hotel, Hilton Kathmandu, Burnt Down In Violent Protests

Hilton Kathmandu, Nepal’s tallest hotel, was destroyed in violent protests. Built over seven years, it opened in 2024. Protesters, angry over corruption and social media bans, set fire to the hotel. Once a symbol of progress, it now lies in ruins. Nearly 20 people died in the unrest, which also forced Kathmandu airport to close.
