Big Boost To Democracy: 50% Seat Hike Proposed

The Centre has proposed a major expansion of legislative representation, increasing seats in the Lok Sabha and all state assemblies by 50 percent. If implemented, Parliament strength will rise from 543 to 816, while total assembly seats grow from 4,123 to 6,185. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will see significant jumps in both MLA and Lok Sabha constituencies.
