Folk Singer Maithili Thakur Joins BJP In Bihar

Folk singer Maithili Thakur, 25, joined the BJP ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls and may contest from Alinagar in Darbhanga. A native of Madhubani, she had earlier expressed political aspirations. Her entry follows the resignation of sitting BJP MLA Mishri Lal Yadav, who cited neglect of Dalits and backward communities.
