Supreme Court Dismisses Congress Plea On Defection Of Goa MLAs

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected Congress’ plea against the Goa assembly speaker’s decision to dismiss their disqualification petition against eight defected MLAs who joined the BJP. The court advised Congress leader Girish Chodankar to approach the Bombay High Court. The speaker had ruled that defection laws don’t apply when MLAs merge with another political party.
