Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, upon taking office, revealed his quest to find his grandfather Sarav Dayal’s pre-Independence home in Amritsar. Built by Dayal, the house in Katra Sher Singh was damaged during the 1947 riots but later restored. Though sold in 1970, Justice Khanna often visits the area, recalling fond memories of his grandfather, a prominent lawyer, and his wisdom beyond textbooks.
