WHO Facilitates India For Eliminating Trachoma As Public Health Problem

India was felicitated by World Health Organisation for the elimination of trachoma as a public health problem. India is the third country in the region after Nepal and Myanmar to achieve this feat. WHO also felicitated Maldives and Sri Lanka for Hepatitis B control in children. “India’s success is due to the strong leadership of its government,” WHO said.
