Supreme Court Stays Order To Close Government-Funded Madrasas

The SC has stayed the NCPCR’s recommendation to close government-funded madrasas for not complying with the Right to Education Act. It also halted orders from Uttar Pradesh and Tripura to transfer students from unrecognised madrasas to government schools. The Court has issued notices to the Centre and states, allowing Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind to expand its petition to other states.
