South Korea confirmed its ninth case of African swine fever this year at a pig farm in Hwacheon, located 88 kilometers northeast of Seoul. Authorities will cull over 3,500 pigs as part of emergency measures to prevent the spread of the disease. Disinfection operations will be conducted at 233 nearby farms, with the culling representing just 0.03% of the total pig population, minimizing the impact on the pork market.
