The Supreme Court on Friday rejected ex-Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda’s request to stay his conviction in the coal scam case, preventing him from contesting in the upcoming state polls. The bench of justices had to reschedule the hearing due to late receipt of case files. The court advised CBI’s senior advocate to examine relevant prior judgments regarding sentence suspension.
