Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda and a convicted rapist, was released from Sunaria jail in Rohtak, Haryana, on Wednesday after being granted a 20-day parole. Singh will stay at the Dera ashram in Barnawa, UP. The Haryana govt has restricted him from participating in election-related activities or making speeches during this period, ahead of the October 5 polls.
