PM Modi Congratulates Dissanayaka On Victory As Sri Lanka’s New President

PM Modi extended wishes to newly elected Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka. The left-leaning leader and self-proclaimed Marxist will be sworn into office on Monday at 9:00 am in Colombo. Dissanayaka, who is the leader of the People’s Liberation Front (JVP), achieved a landslide victory over Sajith Premadasa, securing nearly 1.3 million more votes than his closest rival.
