In view of ‘Cyclone Montha’, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has decided to send alert messages to over one crore mobile phones starting today. Phones will vibrate and deliver voice updates to warn people. Earlier managed by private firms, the AP government will now directly operate this emergency alert system.
