Two weeks before Maharashtra’s Assembly polls, the Election Commission has ordered the transfer of DGP Rashmi Shukla due to allegations from the Opposition, led by Congress, claiming she is biased toward the ruling Mahayuti alliance. The Commission instructed Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik to transfer her duties to the next seniormost officer and submit a panel for her replacement.
