In a significant ruling, 98 individuals were sentenced to life imprisonment for a decade-old atrocity case against Dalits in Marakumbi village, Karnataka. The incident dates back to August 28, 2014, when a clash between upper-caste villagers and Dalits erupted, resulting in property damage and injuries. Of the 101 charged, three received five years of rigorous imprisonment.
