Kharif Crop Sowing Surpasses 1,104 Lakh Hectares Amid Improved Monsoons

Kharif crop sowing in India has exceeded 1,104 lakh hectares, with notable increases in paddy, coarse cereals, oilseeds, and sugarcane. Paddy coverage reached 413 lakh hectares, surpassing last year’s figures. Improved monsoon conditions have aided sowing. Horticulture production is projected at 353.19 million tonnes for 2023-24, supported by a ₹1.52 lakh crore budget outlay.
