A Jodhpur doctor, Dr. Mohammad Shakir, was tricked by scammers posing as customs officials, losing Rs 9.5 lakh. Threatened with money laundering and human trafficking charges, he was digitally “arrested” for 24 hours, unable to contact anyone. This is the fourth such scam in Jodhpur since August, where victims, including professionals, were duped into transferring large sums through fraudulent tactics.
