India’s Coal Imports Surge 41% To 25.23 MT In July: Data Reveals

India’s coal imports increased by 40.56% to 25.23 million tonnes (MT) in July, up from 17.95 MT in the same month last year, according to Mjunction Services. From April to July, imports reached 100.48 MT, compared to 89.11 MT a year earlier. Non-coking coal imports rose significantly, while coking coal volumes declined due to weak demand from steel mills.
