In line with the ‘Atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) initiative, the Indian Army has inducted 550 units of the indigenously developed ‘Asmi’ machine pistols into the Northern Command. Developed by Colonel Prasad Bansod in collaboration with DRDO, the 100% Make in India weapon marks a key milestone in India’s defence manufacturing. It has been produced by Lokesh Machines in Hyderabad.
