As per the most recent statistics by the National Crime Records Bureau, the number of people who died from heart attacks increased by 12.5% in 2022 alone, with at least 32,457 deaths. Over the past three years, there has been an increase in heart attack fatalities in India. Maintaining a healthy diet, quitting smoking and alcohol, and engaging in regular exercise are all crucial in preventing unexpected heart attacks.
Heart attack deaths as a specific category have also increased dramatically, initially declining from 28,579 in 2020 to 28,413 in 2021 and then skyrocketing to 32,457 in 2022. The information does, however, highlight how urgent it is to identify and address the causes of this alarming trend.
