Haryana Takes Action Against Stubble Burning: 14 Farmers Arrested

Following Supreme Court criticism over inaction against crop residue burning, Haryana has arrested 14 farmers in Kaithal district. The agriculture department has also suspended 24 officials for failing to address stubble burning, a key contributor to Delhi’s winter pollution. Police are now arresting farmers from last year’s stubble burning cases, with 270 incidents reported in 2023.
