GST Officials Reveal ₹10,179 Crore Evasion: 10,700 Fake Registrations Exposed

Goods and Services Tax officials have uncovered significant evasion in their ongoing drive against fake companies established to defraud the public exchequer. A senior official reported that 10,700 fraudulent registrations have been identified, leading to evaded GST payments totaling Rs 10,179 crore across the country. Aadhaar verification for GST registrations is in place in 12 states.
