Govt Extends AFSPA In certain Areas Of Nagaland & Arunachal Pradesh

The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) has been extended for six months in eight districts of Nagaland, three districts of Arunachal Pradesh, and other areas following a review of the law and order situation. This act allows security forces to search, arrest, and use lethal force if necessary to maintain public order in designated disturbed areas, said the Union Home Ministry.
